How Does It Work? Our Process for Shipping Glass Railing Kits
- Reach Out
– Give us a call or email plans@styleguardsystems.com with your linear footage and site photos (both wide shots and detailed close-ups are helpful). - Get a Quick Estimate
– We review your photos and footage and send a no-obligation estimate with the recommended system, and discuss your options with you. - Provide a Simple Drawing
– You’ll sketch each run as straight lines with precise measurements in inches. No artistry or technical design skills required! - Glass Panel Layout
– Using your drawing, we help determine panel count and panel dimensions, gapping, hardware quantity, and other details. Our systems are designed to fit your space and look uniform and sleek.
- Approval Drawing – We send a clean layout based on your drawing, showing every panel size, hardware layout, and notes for review.
- Final On-Site Confirmation (by You) –
Measure straight lines on site using our drawing and panel specs. If everything matches, you’re good to go! - Fabrication & Crating – We begin fabricating your glass, and ship your hardware. This way, you can stage the install and prepare for your glass as soon as the layout is finalized.
- Delivery – Congrats! Your glass arrives curbside from a dedicated sprinter van or box truck, at a time of your choice. Uncrate your cargo, drop your glass in place, and you’re all set. You’re now the proud owner of a seamless glass fence or railing.
What We’ll Need From You
We’ll take you through this process step by step.
- Total linear footage.
- Site plans, renderings, or photographs.
- A basic drawing with each run labeled in inches.
- A detailed drawing or plywood cutout for any non-rectangular panels (stair sections, slopes, etc).
Who Can Install Glass Railings?
We have shipped glass railing kits to many DIYers and contractors who are new to the materials. In general, you should be confident in your installation and glazing skills. We recommend our glass railing kits for:
- Licensed contractors & builders who want pro-grade glass systems without local sourcing delays.
- DIY homeowners with solid measuring skills who are ready to follow a drawing and system guide.
- Architects/designers in need of a minimalist steel and glass solution that ships to site.
Compliance & Engineering Notes
Local codes vary. Requirements for pool barriers, guardrail heights, and handgrip/rail continuity may apply. We design with typical requirements in mind, but final compliance is the responsibility of the installer and property owner. Engineering documents and structural calculations for our systems are available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. StyleGuard ships nationwide across all 50 states (Alaska and Hawaii included).
Absolutely. We’ll recommend a system based on your surface, style, code requirements, and budget.
All projects are made-to-order. Monolithic tempered glass at ½” thick satisfies most job requirements and looks excellent. Sometimes, 9/16” thick laminated glass is required for frameless systems, depending on safety requirements. We also offer frosted and acid-etched glass for privacy screens, as well as colored glass and starphire (low iron) options.
On average, just a couple of weeks. Your timeline depends on layout complexity as well as your ability to provide a basic drawing and confirm measurements on-site. We’ll provide an estimated turnaround time based on your hardware requirements and shipping zone. Glass fabrication and crating only takes 3 days for most projects.
StyleGuard provides installation services in certain areas. Check with our office to see if we have an installer near you.
